Piano Teacher

Thriving since 2015 and located in the Rose Garden neighborhood of San Jose CA, Cultivate Music Studio provides all students, regardless of age or ability, with a quality, inclusive, developmentally-appropriate music education. CMS specializes in teaching students with disabilities, but also attracts students without disabilities and those who are gifted. 

As we focus on a typically underserved population, CMS is rapidly growing and seeking an enthusiastic, open-minded piano teacher to join our team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing piano lessons in relation to individual student’s needs
  • Teaching lessons in-person and online
  • Interact with families/caregivers in a professional and amiable manner to provide informal progress updates and monitor practice at home
  • Communicate with director monthly to discuss progress, challenges, ideas, and material requirements
  • In some cases, implement specific curriculum put forth by the director
  • Track student progress in shared Google docs

Qualifications and Desired Qualities:

  • Open mind, growth mindset, willingness to learn and be challenged
  • Proactive - takes initiative in problem-solving with students and knows when to ask for help
  • Positive and collaborative attitude
  • Ability to maintain calm demeanor in stressful situations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Tentative commitment of at least one year is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in music is preferred, but not required if otherwise qualified
  • Instrumental proficiency
  • Teaching experience is a plus but not required

Violin Teacher
